Description
About the Opportunity  The Clinton Policy Institute creates and supports an “ecosystem” of individuals and organizations committed to building and collaborating on a shared strategy to increase and amplify collective impact. Our approach is fundamentally about outcomes—not building standalone initiatives but bringing together value-aligned organizations to multiply our collective potential. We aim to serve as a catalytic platform where individuals and organizations can connect, learn, scale their efforts, and build a robust community dedicated to making and implementing policy on the state and local levels. Rather than competing or duplicating existing work, we are committed to complementing and enhancing the efforts of like-minded groups, creating synergies that generate more significant outcomes than any single organization could achieve alone. The Director of Health Policy leads the Clinton Policy Institute’s work to help states protect and expand health care access and equity. The role focuses on translating research, lived experience, and on-the-ground policy examples into practical guidance for governors’ offices, state agencies, legislators, advocates, and private-sector partners. The Director identifies concrete policy opportunities, particularly at the state level, in areas such as maternal health, reproductive rights, children’s mental health, vaccines, the health care workforce, and rural health. Key responsibilities include: Core Responsibilities    Setting health policy priorities and strategy Develop and maintain an 18-month health policy agenda that identifies clear opportunities for state legislative, regulatory, and executive action Translate broad research and evidence into specific policy options states can realistically adopt or adapt Policy analysis and synthesis Conduct targeted landscape reviews of state policies, pilot programs, and private-sector initiatives to identify what is working, where gaps remain, and what could scale Distill complex policy and research into clear takeaways for lay audiences Convenings and cross-sector engagement Design and lead convenings that bring together state leaders, researchers, advocates, and industry partners to share lessons, pressure-test ideas, and move from discussion to action Shape agendas, briefing materials, and follow-up outputs to ensure convenings lead to concrete next steps Writing and thought partnership Produce internal materials (e.g., memos, strategy documents) and external thought leadership (e.g., op-eds, public-facing briefs) to inform CPI leadership and support state-level policy development among external partners Serve as a thought partner to CPI leadership and collaborators on emerging health policy issues Partnership building and field engagement Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, researchers, advocates, philanthropic leaders, and private-sector partners working on health policy Represent CPI in external meetings, working groups, and public forums related to health policy issues Minimum Qualifications    What we’re looking for:   College Degree required MA to PhD  preferred At least 10 years of professional experience in the field in positions of increasing responsibility.
