It’s an exciting time to join as we expand into new areas of eye care and continue shaping the future of practice management. ABOUT THE ROLE Barti is looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to help scale the company through its next phase of growth. This role is our first finance hire and will serve as a key business partner to leadership while building the financial infrastructure, planning processes, and operational rigor needed to support a rapidly growing SaaS business. You will lead financial planning and analysis, improve company-wide visibility into business performance, and support strategic decision-making across hiring, go-to-market investments, pricing, and long-term growth planning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing high-level strategy with day-to-day execution in a fast-moving startup environment. The right person is highly analytical, resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. This role reports directly to the COO. RESPONSIBILITIES Your primary responsibility is building a scalable finance function that enables strong decision-making and supports the company’s growth. To do this, you will: FINANCIAL PLANNING & BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP - Own company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes - Lead annual planning, including headcount modeling, revenue assumptions, and scenario planning - Build and maintain financial models that support hiring, growth, and operational decision-making - Partner closely with leadership across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Operations - Help leadership evaluate investment tradeoffs across headcount, tooling, and strategic initiatives - Improve visibility into business performance through reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis FINANCIAL OPERATIONS & INFRASTRUCTURE - Improve financial operating cadence and reporting consistency across the business - Establish and lead monthly business reviews - Strengthen oversight of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and expense management - Partner with external accounting and finance vendors to ensure reliable financial operations - Build scalable processes, controls, and systems that support future growth - Support equity grant modeling and compensation planning processes GO-TO-MARKET & STRATEGIC FINANCE - Act as a finance partner to go-to-market leadership on pricing, forecasting, and growth initiatives - Pressure test commission plans and incentive structures across Sales and Customer Success teams - Improve financial visibility into customer acquisition, retention, and expansion performance - Support strategic partnership and expansion modeling BOARD & FUNDRAISING SUPPORT - Partner with leadership on board reporting and investor materials - Improve financial storytelling and executive-level reporting - Support preparation for future fundraising and long-term capital planning - Build credibility with external stakeholders including investors, auditors, and banking partners QUALIFICATIONS - 6+ years in finance, FP&A, or strategic finance roles; investment banking or private equity experience is a plus - Background in high-growth SaaS or investor-backed startup environments - Exposure to fundraising and financial planning processes - Strong FP&A, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities - Proven ability to build scalable processes and operate effectively in ambiguous environments
