Description
About Nscale Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI. We provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Nscale enables AI-focused companies to achieve superior results by reducing the complexity of AI development. Our GPU cloud bolsters technical capabilities and directly supports strategic business outcomes, including cost management, rapid innovation, and environmental responsibility. We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future. About the Role We're looking for a Director of Design Technology to own Nscale's entire design technology stack — from BIM standards and execution plans through to the long-range vision of a fully integrated Digital Twin across Design, Construction, and Operations. - You'll set the strategy for how every discipline — architectural, structural, MEP, civil, power, and infrastructure — authors, coordinates, and delivers design data. - You see BIM models as more than documentation artifacts — they're the single source of truth that 3D visualization, 4D construction sequencing, 5D cost intelligence, and an eventual live operational Digital Twin all derive from. - You'll be Nscale's leading voice on where design production is going — integrating AI into design workflows, pushing Nscale to the frontier of computational design, and building the data infrastructure that connects design intent to construction execution to operational performance. - This is a role for a visionary and a practitioner. You can write a BIM Execution Plan in the morning, demo a Digital Twin concept in the afternoon, and have a credible AI-in-design roadmap on the table by the end of the week. - You'll start as an individual contributor and are expected to build an internal team and specialist network as the design technology program matures. What You'll be Doing - Author, own, and enforce Nscale's BIM Guidelines and project-level BIM Execution Plans across all design and construction programs. - Define model authoring standards, naming conventions, LOD requirements, and file structure protocols across disciplines. - Establish federated model coordination workflows and clash detection cadences across architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and power disciplines. - Own the model-based pipeline that carries design data from authoring through construction handoff and into operational systems without data loss or manual translation. - Own the 4D strategy, linking BIM models to construction schedules for visual sequencing and early conflict identification. - Own the 5D strategy, connecting model elements to cost data for real-time cost intelligence and faster value engineering. - Own Nscale's Digital Twin vision, including the data model, platform architecture, and integration requirements for a hyperscale AI datacenter campus. - Lead the evaluation and pilot of NVIDIA Omniverse as the visualization and simulation layer for Nscale's Digital Twin, including USD-based workflows and real-time data integration. - Own Nscale's AI-in-design strategy, deploying AI-assisted tools for clash detection, generative layout optimization, energy simulation, and code compliance checking. - Own the full design technology stack — authoring platforms (Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Rhino), coordination tools (Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC), visualization environments, and data infrastructure. - Embed safety review checkpoints, quality gates, and sustainability analysis directly into model-based workflows. - Define Nscale's design technology requirements for AE firms — minimum BIM standards, required deliverables, and data handoff protocols
