The role involves leading strategic marketing and communications efforts for the School of Physical Sciences, managing internal and external communications, media relations, event coordination, and branding to enhance the school's visibility and influence. The Director supervises staff, oversees budget activities, and collaborates with university leadership to implement effective communication strategies aligned with the Dean's vision. Highlights • Lead internal and external marketing and communications for the School of Physical Sciences, including media relations and event coordination. • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies across written, digital, visual, and electronic media. • Supervise a team of 2.0 FTE staff and manage related budgets and vendor relationships. • Oversee brand management and ensure consistency in school communications and graphic standards. • Maintain and direct the school's website strategy, including content management and social media presence. • Produce communication materials such as newsletters, press releases, videos, and speeches for senior leadership. • Required expertise in strategic communication planning, media relations, graphic design, and project management. • Must have a bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of related communications experience, preferably in higher education. • Preferred experience includes managing staff, knowledge of higher education STEM fields, and an understanding of organizational mission and goals. • Salary range: $100,100 to $143,800 annually, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for hybrid work.
