We have an opportunity for a Director -level Defence professional to join our Canberra team and play a key role in growing and delivering our Joint Air and Land consulting capability. We are open to both engineering and project management professionals at Director level, with appropriate qualifications and a track record of leading mixed-discipline teams. This role will suit an experienced Defence Engineer or Project Manager who combines strong domain expertise with the ability to lead teams, build trusted client relationships, and identify opportunities to deliver meaningful outcomes for Defence.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Leading the delivery of complex Joint, Air and Land Defence consulting engagements and providing trusted advice to senior stakeholders
Building and maintaining strong relationships across Defence communities, influencing decision makers and supporting capability outcomes
Identifying new opportunities, leveraging Defence networks and supporting business development activities to grow Coras’ Defence footprint
Leading, mentoring and developing a small team of consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes and build capability

You are a respected Defence professional who understands the complexities of delivering capability outcomes across Joint, Air and Land environments. You enjoy solving complex problems, building trusted relationships and working collaboratively with clients and teams to deliver meaningful results.
You bring a collegiate leadership style, with the ability to balance client delivery, team development and business growth. You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, influencing outcomes and representing Coras as a trusted Defence partner.
You will bring:
Significant experience delivering capability outcomes within Defence Joint, Air and/or Land environments using your Engineering or Project Management skills
Strong understanding of the Defence capability lifecycle and the Defence Capability System (DCS)
Experience operating as an experienced practitioner aligned to DSS Level 3 expectations
Established relationships across Joint, Air and/or Land Defence communities, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Strong consulting capability, including stakeholder engagement, client management and delivery of outcomes
Experience identifying and pursuing business opportunities through trusted client relationships
Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills
Relevant engineering, project management, capability management or Defence qualifications are also desirable
