Description
Meet Upside: We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives. The Impact You'll Make Upside's consumer app is on a hypergrowth trajectory — scaling from millions of active users toward a much larger, mainstream audience. This role owns the consumer growth system end-to-end: conversion, retention, cross-sell, and organic user-to-user growth. You'll be accountable for the hundreds of product decisions, big and small, that shape how consumers experience Upside every day. You'll bring a strong point of view on where the consumer growth strategy should go next, grounded in data, consumer insight, and rigorous prioritization. You'll also raise the bar on quality and polish across the app, strengthening the reliability and trust consumers place in the product. And you'll play a key role in growing how consumers use Upside across multiple everyday spend categories — gas, grocery, and restaurants — turning single-category users into multi-category habits. You'll lead a team of consumer product managers and report directly to the CPO. What you'll do - Own the consumer growth system — conversion, retention, cross-sell, and user-to-user growth over paid media - Set and evolve consumer growth strategy, grounded in data, consumer insight, and rigorous prioritization - Own the product decisions that drive quality, polish, reliability, and trust across the app - Drive multi-category adoption — turning single-category users into engaged users across gas, grocery, and restaurant - Build habit formation and frequency into the core product; balance supply/demand and unit economics - Lead and grow a team of consumer PMs; scale the team with an AI-centric approach - Partner with Design, Data, and Marketing to turn consumer insight into measurable product bets Competencies you'll need - Track record owning consumer app growth through a hypergrowth curve, including the full growth system (conversion, retention, cross-sell, organic growth) - Strong product judgment — high-quality, high-polish consumer experiences and disciplined prioritization - Deep consumer app expertise; secondary marketplace expertise (supply/demand, unit economics) - Experience building habit-forming products and driving adoption across multiple use cases or product lines - AI-centric approach to scaling product management - Experience leading a team of PMs (5-10) and growing PM talent - 10+ years PM experience; curious, hungry to grow, bias for progress over perfection Nice to have's - Fintech, marketplace, or transaction-driven product background - Experience designing for trust and credibility as a conversion lever - Exposure to payments or financial-experience product work Who this is not for - Someone looking for a purely visionary, blank-slate mandate — this role is about scaling and elevating a fast-growing consumer product, with real ownership over strategy within that mandate - Someone who prefers managing large, layered organizations over staying close to the product and the team Location: This hybrid role is based in our Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC office. In-office attendance is required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and may increase based on project-based needs and changes to Upside’s in-office policy over time. Compensation: The U.S. base salary range for this full-time pos
