Be the Trusted Presence That Keeps the Night Safe The Arc of Ocean County is hiring compassionate and dependable Overnight Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide awake overnight support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in residential homes throughout Ocean County. While others are asleep, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, secure, and comfortable environment where individuals can rest peacefully. From responding to overnight needs and completing wellness checks to preparing residents for a successful morning, your work helps ensure quality care continues around the clock. Position Information Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available Shift: Awake Overnight | 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM Location: Ocean County, New Jersey Starting Pay: $20.70 per hour Opportunity to Earn: Up to $24.70 per hour through applicable shift differentials and overtime opportunities Weekend Availability Required Important: Overnight staff are required to remain awake and actively engaged throughout the entire shift. What You'll Do Maintain a Safe Overnight Environment Provide attentive overnight supervision to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of individuals receiving services. Complete required hourly status checks and other overnight monitoring responsibilities. Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, medical concerns, or unexpected situations. Identify and report maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns affecting the residence. Support Individuals Through the Night & Morning Assist individuals with overnight needs while respecting privacy, dignity, and personal choice. Help individuals with morning routines, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and preparation for daily activities. Provide assistance with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping, and household responsibilities as needed. Administer medications in accordance with agency policies and individualized care plans. Promote Independence & Quality Care Follow individualized behavioral, dietary, medical, mobility, and support plans. Encourage independence while providing person-centered support tailored to each individual's needs. Help individuals work toward personal goals while maintaining a respectful and supportive home environment. Keep Operations Running Smoothly Complete communication logs, medication records, daily documentation, and incident reports accurately and on time. Communicate important overnight updates to incoming staff to ensure continuity of care.
