Direct Care DSP | Life Skills Caregiver | Clackamas County About Empowered Services Empowered Services provides   one-on-one in-home and community-based support  for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our focus is to hire and train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help people build independence, maintain routines, and stay connected to their communities in meaningful ways. Role Overview We are hiring an entry-level   Direct Support Professional (DSP)  to provide consistent, structured care for individuals of all ages in the Yamhill County area. (No prior DSP experience required – paid training provided.) This role centers around: • Supporting daily routines and household structure • Assisting with community-based activities and errands • Encouraging independence while maintaining clear expectations • Behavioral support • Emotional regulation • Crisis support This is a strong fit for someone who is   consistent, patient, and confident maintaining boundaries in a supportive way . Here are some examples of the current customers that are available: • Customer 282:   Adolescent male in Estacada who requires assistance with emotional regulation, supervision while eating, medication administration and monitoring for elopement. You schedule may look like: Thursday 4pm-9pm • Customer 232:   Adolescent male in Lake Oswego that needs assistance with clear communication and structured transitions. Monitor for physical aggression towards siblings, self harm when upset and redirecting verbal aggression. Your schedule may look like: Monday-Friday 3pm to 7pm and every other weekend for 4-6 hour shifts each day • Customer 446:   Adolescent female in Lake Oswego needing assistance with every day life skills, prompting with hygiene reminders and cues to remind about chores. This customer is very active and loves to draw, do crafts and read. Your schedule may look like: Monday-Friday 9am to 4pm for the summer. Schedule will change during the school year. What You’ll Do • Support   daily living routines  (meals, hygiene, organization) • Assist with   community access  (shopping, errands, outings) • Provide   emotional regulation support  using calm, structured approaches • Maintain   clear boundaries and consistent expectations • Assist with   household upkeep and organization • Encourage   independence and personal responsibility • Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation • Help maintain a   safe, predictable, and respectful environment Compensation & Benefits • $23–$25 per hour  (based on experience and qualifications) • Paid training • Flexible schedule based upon the customers needs Full-time employees (30+ hours/week) may be eligible for: • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance • 401(k) with employer match (3% Match) • Paid Time Off (PTO) Qualifications: • Must be   18 years or older • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation • Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements) • Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying) • Comfortable supporting   personal care needs Preferred: • Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles • Experience supporting individuals with I/DD • Strong communication and boundary-setting skills • CPR/First Aid certification Why This Role Stands Out • Consistent   full-time schedule • Structured, routine-based support (not chaotic care) • Strong opportunity to build a   long-term, stable working relationship • Supportive team and clear expectations • Meaningful work focused on   independence and growth Apply Today   If you are dependable, structured, and comfortable providing   calm, consistent support with clear boundaries , we encourage you to apply for this   Direct Support Professional (DSP)   position.
