In this individual contributor role, you will seamlessly alternate between strategic planning and hands-on execution. WHAT YOU’LL DO AS THE DIGITAL PRODUCT DESIGNER
- You’ll execute and support UX and digital product design work for responsive ecommerce experiences across mobile and desktop, ensuring our digital experiences are simple, intuitive, engaging, and brand-right
- You’ll manage design tasks from brief through launch, including creating sketches, user flows, wireframes, and final design specs, while partnering on user research and QA support
- You’ll identify, plan, and solve design problems, translating customer insights and feedback into design solutions that improve the shopping journey
- You’ll support the building and updating of digital experiences, collaborating with engineering and product to utilize Shopify, GemPages, or similar ecommerce/CMS tools to ensure design intent matches implementation
- You’ll collaborate with your manager and functional leads to set up, QA, launch, and iterate on A/B tests and other digital experiments based on your designs
- You’ll partner regularly with peers across Ecommerce, Digital Product, Creative, Brand, and Engineering to bring new digital experiences and optimizations to life
- You’ll utilize customer insights, analytics, and test results to inform design decisions and consistently identify opportunities for improvement
- You’ll proactively participate in retrospectives and team discussions to identify gaps and make recommendations that improve our UX and digital workflows
- You’ll embody Away’s core values and actively help maintain our design system, UX patterns, and digital design standards to ensure consistency across customer touchpoints and how Away shows up across them
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in digital product/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive web experiences across mobile and desktop
- You have past experience designing for a consumer brand or retail business, and are well-versed in designing conversion-focused, customer journey-driven experiences; Shopify, GePages, and/or CMS tools experience is strongly preferred
- You have experience with design tools such as Figma and are highly comfortable creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, design specs, and polished UI design
- You have experience utilizing analytics, research, customer feedback, and/or A/B testing to inform your design decisions and consistently identify areas for improvement
- You have experience and enthusiasm leveraging AI-powered design tools (e.g., Figma AI plugins, generative layout assistants) to accelerate the concept-to-wireframe phase while maintaining strict brand alignment
- Ability to utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to synthesize qualitative user research, heatmaps, and A/B testing data into clear, proposed UX action items to review and prioritize with your team
