About the American Connection Corps: The American Connection Corps (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment. ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities. About Tech Foundry Tech Foundry helps people transform their lives through innovative workforce development that connects talent with opportunity. Our comprehensive, tuition-free programs combine digital literacy, technical training, work experience, higher education access, industry certifications, coaching, and support—so people can build essential skills, launch sustainable tech careers, and strengthen the diverse workforce our region needs. Position Overview Under direction of/in partnership with the Director of Community Impact, the Digital Equity Community Outreach Coordinator will assist in the creation of a robust and inclusive engagement/outreach project plan to address the digital divide in Western MA through Tech Foundry’s brick-and-mortar Tech Hubs located in downtown Holyoke, Springfield and in satellite locations around the region by promoting, and connecting people to, digital literacy training classes, helpdesk support, internet-ready device distribution and referrals to additional workforce development opportunities. Tech Foundry is working to expand Tech Hub services in other Gateway cities (including Pittsfield and Worcester) and outreach work will support these projects if they are approved and funded. The Digital Equity Community Outreach Coordinator will act as a liaison between Tech Foundry and the wider community (ex. the Western MA Alliance for Digital Equity), participate in community events and outreach efforts, marketing and social media activities and engage with key community stakeholders to market Tech Foundry’s Tech Hub services and workforce development programs to their constituents. Finally, the Coordinator will assist in overall Tech Foundry operations as needed. Key Responsibilities The ACC Member will: Research potential partners and communities to reach out to in designated regions (Hampshire, Franklin and Hamden counties). With the Director of Community Impact, develop project plan and outreach/engagement goals. 1) Attend tabling and community events 2) Help organize and facilitate pop-up workshops in desired regions listed above 3) Additional projects as assigned Communicate with potential partners (email, follow-up phone calls, arranging/participating in visits). Oversee the distribution of marketing materials (print and electronic) related to Tech Hub support and training services, as well as pathways through workforce training programs and college courses. Learning & Development Opportunities As an ACC Member, you will receive structured training and support throughout your service year, including: A two-week-long virtual orientation with the national cohort to kick off the service year. A week-long, in-person national Winter Institute convening with your ACC cohort — travel, lodging, and a per diem stipend are fully covered. Twice-monthly virtual training on skills for service, including project management, asset-based community development, grant writing, and serving vulnerable populations, plus self-paced curricula with opportunities to earn badges and credentials.
