Te   whiwhinga   mahi | The opportunity You will join Beca’s Digital Consulting team, working alongside a talented group of digital consultants, engineers, and specialists to   support the delivery of   our AI strategic   programme . As   a Digital Consultant – Agentic   AI , you will focus on   and lead   the   appl ication   o f   agentic AI in practical, real-world ways—partnering with teams across Beca to understand how work is currently performed, redesign workflows, and design and build AI agents that improve efficiency and outcomes. Building a good   AI   agent   draws upon both   business analysis   and   software engineering   skills .   You will elicit knowledge from the people who do the work, design the interaction   with the agent , write the instructions that govern the agent's   behaviour , and run a tight build–test–iterate loop .   You will own the agent end to end, building directly with the model rather than handing over a spec, using contemporary platforms including Copilot and Claude. You will   operate   at the intersection of business analysis and technical delivery. This includes   engaging with   teams to understand challenges, mapping workflows,   identifying   opportunities where AI can add value, and designing and building agents using   contemporary   platforms   including   Copilot   and   Claude . A key part of the role is building capability, not dependency .    You will work alongside teams   -   often building the first agents beside an emerging local builder and then handing over   -   so they can design, build, and   maintain   their own AI agents over time , supporting the long-term uplift of AI capability across the business. Mōu   ake   | About you You will bring analytical thinking, technical curiosity, and   strong communication   skills, with a genuine interest in how these models behave and what they can and cannot do. You are comfortable with ambiguity, work well independently, and are   confident   challenging convention   -   including suggesting to   senior stakeholder s   when   there is a better way. You are at ease engaging with teams to understand how work is done, challenging assumptions, and translating business needs into structured, actionable solutions. You will have: • 5+   years experience   in business analysis, consulting, process improvement, or digital delivery • Practical   hands-on   exposure to AI tools or automation technologies ,   working directly with AI models   ( e.g.   prompt design, agents, low/no-code tools) • model intuition and a test-and-learn approach — comfortable reading transcripts, forming a hypothesis about behaviour, and iterating quickly • elicitation skills: drawing tacit knowledge out of an expert and structuring it, without needing to be the expert yourself • Strong problem - solving skills, with the ability to break down complex workflows and   identify   opportunities for improvement • Confidence working with stakeholders at   different levels   and building trusted relationships • Strong communication   skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way • comfort   with ambiguity, self-direction, and a willingness to work hands-on with new tools and continuously learn.
