Report to: VP of Fleet & Logistics
Job Summary:
M5 Utilities is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and diesel-powered machinery to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and driveline components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on heavy equipment and trucks.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in the shop and in the field.
• Repair and maintain excavators, dozers, loaders, compactors, dump trucks, water trucks, and other construction equipment.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
• Inspect equipment for safety and operational concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions.
