Our Regional Smart Fare System (RSFS) makes transit seamless — tap and go with cards, devices, and smart tech across multiple transit networks. Behind the scenes, a complex ecosystem of validators, ticket machines, POS systems, and handheld devices keeps everything running smoothly. That’s where you come in. As a Service Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping this system live, reliable, and performing at its best — both in the field and behind the scenes. 🔧 What You’ll Be Doing Keep critical transit devices up and running across the network Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on smart fare systems Diagnose and resolve real-time issues and incidents Monitor system performance and run device diagnostics Support software updates and system releases Track and manage device inventory and components Collaborate with transit agencies, internal teams, and vendors Deliver against high SLA expectations in a fast-paced environment Requirements 🧠 What You Bring Background in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or similar) Experience working with networked systems and applications Strong understanding of system architecture & operating systems Hands-on experience with maintenance in large-scale systems A natural problem-solver with strong attention to detail Ability to juggle priorities and stay calm under pressure Great communication skills and a customer-first mindset A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle Bonus points for: Experience with ticketing systems, Jira, or inventory tools Knowledge of transit, mobility, or smart city tech 💪 What the Job Looks Like Day-to-Day ~70% field-based work across transit locations Hands-on with hardware — lifting, installing, troubleshooting Working in a mix of warehouse and on-site environments Being part of a team that keeps a region moving every day ⚡ Why This Role is Different Work on real-world, city-scale technology Be part of a system used by thousands of people daily Blend of hardware, software, and field engineering High impact — when you fix something, it matters immediately 🧭 Who This Suits You’ll thrive here if you: Like being hands-on, not stuck behind a desk Enjoy solving problems in real time Want to work on technology that people actually use every day Are comfortable in an environment where things move fast and change often Benefits
