Summary: LIVE is seeking a Desktop Publisher Specialist to serve in a contingent role supporting the development, production, and management of official publishing products. This position is responsible for editing, layout and template applications, document formatting, and library and database management in support of technical and administrative publishing requirements. The Desktop Publisher Specialist ensures publishing products meet established standards for quality, accuracy, formatting, and compliance, and supports customers through professional, responsive, and high-quality publishing services. Essential Job Functions: Prepare, format, edit, and produce a wide range of publishing products using standardized templates, styles, and organizational publishing requirements. Apply advanced editing and quality control practices to ensure documents meet formatting, grammar, style, and presentation standards. Perform layout and template application for official correspondence, publications, reports, and other publishing deliverables. Manage and maintain document libraries, reference materials, and publishing databases, including version control and records tracking. Coordinate with authors, reviewers, and stakeholders to resolve formatting, editing, and publication issues. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all publishing products prior to release. Support the preparation and release of military publishing products, including strategy, policy, procedural, training, general message release, executive secretariat, and other correspondence management products. Provide technical and functional assistance related to publishing tools, templates, and document standards. Maintain publishing documentation and workflow records in accordance with established lifecycle and records management procedures. Please note that this position is mostly Remote, but some rare visits to the United States Coast Guard at 2703 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd SE, Washington DC 20593, will be required. Required Qualifications: Possesses U.S. citizenship. Possesses a bachelor’s degree in IT, Public Policy, Administration, Military Science, Library Science, Homeland Security, English, or a related field. 2-5 years of demonstrated mastery of editing, layout and template application, and publishing standards. 2-5 years of demonstrated experience with library and database usage and management in a publishing or documentation environment. Highly proficient mastery of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, and professional writing standards. Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform thorough quality and compliance reviews. LIVE is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
