Description
About Signal Ocean : Signal Ocean is the technology arm of the Signal Group. Our primary product, The Signal Ocean Platform, enables shipping professionals to securely handle, integrate, and assess intricate collections of private and public shipping data. Driven by advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies, the platform provides tailored, exclusive insights that support our clients in achieving performance and efficiency. About the Role: We are looking for curious, self-driven individuals with a passion for product design and technology to join our Design team in Athens for a 6-month internship, with the possibility to extend for 18 more months (24 months total). A successful internship can lead to a permanent position. In this role, you will contribute to UX/UI design across the Signal Ocean Platform - supporting research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and helping evolve our design system within a complex, data-driven product environment. We are looking for proactive, detail-oriented team players who are eager to grow as designers in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. At Signal, we value respect, inclusivity, and strong collaboration across all teams. What you will do in this role: Human-AI Collaboration : Integrate AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, and Figma AI) into your daily workflow to brainstorm concepts, generate assets, and accelerate prototyping. Designing the Core: Work alongside Senior Designers and Product Managers to conceptualize and execute design solutions across multiple user interfaces and mobile apps. Prototyping & Iterating : Bring ideas to life quickly. You’ll participate in design sprints, create wireframes, and build high-fidelity prototypes. Advocating for the user : Participate in user research to ensure that our AI-assisted designs actually solve real human problems with empathy and ethics. Presenting your work: Learn how to articulate your design decisions in team critiques. We want to hear why you made the choices you did, and how you used tools to get there. Requirements What you bring to the team: A standout portfolio: We care much more about your taste, your thought process, and your potential than we do about your grades. Show us how you think and how you solve problems. Fierce Curiosity: You don't need to be an AI prompt engineer yet, but you must have a deep curiosity about how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of design and a willingness to experiment daily. The fundamentals: A recent degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field. You know the rules of typography, layout, and color theory well enough to know when to break them. Toolbox basics: Proficiency in industry-standard tools like Figma or Adobe Creative Cloud. A growth mindset: You are open to constructive feedback and leave your ego at the door. You know that the first draft is never the final draft. How to apply: Please send us your resume and a link to your portfolio. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Benefits What we offer: Through this paid internship, you will collaborate with experienced product designers and cross-functional teams who are committed to mentoring and helping you grow. Coverage under the company’s collective health insurance plan. Opportunity to work alongside experienced people with deep knowledge in software engineering, data science & shipping business who are always eager to mentor. Signal’s hybrid remote work policy currently includes 9 working days at premises per month, during which happy hour events take place 2-4 weeks of onboarding training to prepare you for your new role, having the opportunity to meet about 30 trainers while diving deep into our products and/or the shipping world. Career growth opportunities and a structured development discussion every 4 months. Personal learning budget for training, seminars, conferences (750
