Woking, Surrey
Full Time | Monday to Friday | 40 Hours per Week
A candidate information pack including the full job description is available upon request.
Overview:
Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a leading UK provider of residential addiction treatment services to recruit a Deputy Centre Manager for their specialist rehabilitation service.
The site is a small, residential rehabilitation centre delivering structured detoxification and recovery programmes for individuals experiencing substance misuse and co-occurring mental health conditions. The service operates within a highly structured therapeutic environment, supporting predominantly private and self-funded clients through short to medium-term residential stays.
Together, we are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to work closely with the Operations & Registered Manager to embed consistent leadership across the service. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in championing a positive culture, strengthening governance standards, and supporting ongoing service improvement.
You will also be supported to eventually progress into the Registered Manager role with a defined succession plan in place; enabling to Operations Manager to step away and focus more strategically within the organisation.

This is a fully site-based role within a residential rehabilitation service in Woking, Surrey.
The position is commutable from Southampton, Eastleigh, Portsmouth, Winchester, Chichester, Guildford, Haslemere, Basingstoke, Farnham, Crawley, Horsham, Godalming, and surrounding areas.
Working Pattern:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Typical working hours are 8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–4:30pm, with flexibility offered depending on service needs. Earlier starts are common within residential rehabilitation environments due to MDT activity and client routines.
One weekend in four on-call is required on a rotational basis, phone-based only with no requirement to attend site.
Criteria:
• Experience as a Deputy Manager working within substance misuse / addiction recovery or wider mental health services
• Familiarity ideally with residential settings, though supported living is also relevant
• Ability to manage and stabilise teams within a change or improvement setting
• Strong understanding of service delivery, governance and operational management
Responsibilities Include:
• Full operational leadership and management of the rehab centre
• Embedding a culture of accountability, structure and service delivery focus
• Ensuring safe, effective and compliant delivery of residential rehabilitation programmes
• Overseeing care planning, risk management and MDT coordination
• Driving service improvement and operational development initiatives
• Maintaining CQC compliance and supporting ongoing governance requirements
• Working closely with senior leadership to implement wider organisational change
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and workforce development within the service
Interview Process:
This will be a three-stage interview process:
Stage 1: Informal Teams interview focusing on cultural fit and values alignment
Stage 2: Face-to-face interview at the service, including competency-based discussion
Stage 3: Final interview with senior leadership
Salary and Benefits:
This Registered Centre Manager position is paying between £40,000 and £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, and includes the following benefits:
