ABOUT THE JOB
As International Trade Compliance Deputy Head of Trade at Anduril Industries, you will be responsible for working closely with the Head of Trade to ensure our operations comply with applicable laws and regulations as we deliver cutting-edge defense technology to protect our warfighters and allies. Your expertise in trade compliance will be instrumental in enabling Anduril's mission while building and maintaining a best-in-class compliance program for one of the defense industry's most innovative companies. As a rapidly scaling defense technology company with expanding international partnerships, Anduril requires sophisticated U.S. export compliance programs that enable speed-to-mission while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory adherence. Your legal acumen and operational insights for managing trade compliance will enable Anduril to deploy advanced autonomous systems, software-defined platforms, and AI-powered solutions to critical allies and partners globally. You will be expected to provide pragmatic, mission-focused counsel that balances compliance requirements with the urgency of modern warfare and national security needs. You will report directly to the Head of Trade within Anduril's Legal Department and work out of one of our key locations in Costa Mesa, CA or Washington, DC. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, business development, government affairs, and operations to ensure compliance excellence across Anduril's portfolio of defense technology platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Partner with senior leadership, including the Head of Trade, to shape strategic direction and turn trade compliance planning into action. Make key decisions that drive operational success, and help translate high-level trade compliance goals into clear priorities for the organization.
Provide strategic advice on trade matters throughout the enterprise including Anduril’s executive leadership team.
Oversee M&A due diligence and integration activity for the organization.
Support trade-related audits, investigations and disclosures.
Engage with regulators and government representatives to position and advocate for Anduril’s strategic initiatives and compliance program.
Drive Anduril’s growth culture through a business-forward mindset ensuring full compliance with global trade laws and regulations.
Play a critical role in developing trade compliance policies and be responsible for outcomes that balance compliance and business priorities.
Leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to enhance trade compliance programs, including developing AI-powered solutions for sanctions screening, export/import classification, restricted party list monitoring, regulatory change management and program monitoring.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to travel up to 25%.
+10 years practicing trade controls in a legal and/or compliance capacity with deep subject matter-level expertise navigating and providing strategic advice concerning international trade regulations (e.g., Australia, EU, U.S. and UK).
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance.
