Salary: £17,326 - £20,411 The Queen’s Film Theatre, situated on University Square, is a unique cultural venue with almost 50 years of experience of bringing a high quality film experience to Belfast audiences. It has been Northern Ireland’s leading independent cinema since 1968 and 70% of the programme is unique and cannot be seen in any other NI cinema. QFT’s vision is to be a leading centre for film excellence and creativity that inspires, informs and entertains. The QFT’s mission is to provide a unique cinema experience and widen access to the best of film from around the world through a programme that actively encourages appreciation, enjoyment, debate and understanding. Annually, the venue screens around 450 films to 100,000 people in two fully licensed cinema screens. Films shown range from classics, independent and the best contemporary films to documentaries, short films and animation, with an international focus and a diverse programme of films from around the world. QFT operates out of the Drama and Film Centre at Queen’s which also houses the Brian Friel Theatre. This role requires an enthusiastic and energetic individual with a talent for customer service and a passion for film. Becoming part of the front of house team at Northern Ireland’s leading independent cinema, the role will assist the Operation’s Manager with the day to day operation of Queen’s Film Theatre and will be responsible for overseeing all bar operations. The successful applicant will use their skills and knowledge to ensure the QFT’s public programme is delivered in an efficient and high quality manner within current legislative and procedural guidelines and will help to develop and promote a range of bar specialties aimed at increasing income and improving the customer experience.
