Description
[What the role is] You will carry out day-to-day supervision of exchanges, market operators, clearing houses and intermediaries to ensure that trading in securities and derivatives is fair, orderly and transparent and to promote stronger and more resilient capital market infrastructures and intermediaries. [What you will be working on] This position sits within our Markets, Infrastructures and Intermediaries Supervision department. You will join a dynamic team tasked to supervise exchanges, market operators, clearing houses and intermediaries (brokers). You will carry out day-to-day supervision of exchanges, market operators, clearing houses and intermediaries to ensure that trading in securities and derivatives is fair, orderly and transparent and to promote stronger and more resilient capital market infrastructures and intermediaries. You will also have responsibility for reviewing and assessing new licence applications. There will also be opportunities for you to participate in business process reviews and other related transformation work to improve the department’s efficiency and effectiveness. [What we are looking for] • Heart to serve the public and an alignment to the broader mission of MAS • Self-motivated, analytical, with a keen interest to develop expertise in capital markets • Mature and able to work independently • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills • Good understanding and prior working experience in capital market intermediaries and/or securities or derivatives markets or regulatory matters will be an advantage This is a 1-year contract position.
