Engaging Dental Assistant needed in Portage, MI! We are looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team and play a key role in delivery high-quality dental care and customer service to our patients. You will be responsible for sterilization, operatory set-up/tear down, adherence to OSHA standards, chair-side assisting, lab work and patient education. Schedule: Full-time, Mondays through Thursdays • Mondays and Wednesdays: 7:00 AM to 4:50 PM (closed 12:00–1:00 PM for lunch) • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive pay, based on experience • Paid time off (PTO) • Complimentary dental care for employees and discounts for family members • Supportive office culture that values team input • Paid continuing education • Paid uniforms • 401(k) with employer contribution Essential Duties: • Deliver excellent patient care and support a strong team environment • Commit to professional and personal growth • Demonstrate a high standard of performance in all duties • Problem-solve independently and collaborate effectively • Show empathy and build trust with patients and teammates • Document treatment details thoroughly and accurately • Take and label X-rays as needed • Escort patients and provide a positive experience • Apply topical agents and assist our Dentist with procedures • Assist the Dentist during exams and chart findings • Maintain treatment rooms and keep them well-prepared • Educate patients on oral health and home care Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced setting • Skilled in taking radiographs, and assisting with general dentistry procedures (surgical experience preferred but not required) • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety procedures • Proficient with dental software (Eaglesoft, Weave and EzDent-i preferred) and Microsoft Office • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills • Ability to give and accept feedback and follow instructions Special Requirements, Certifications, Licenses • Valid X-Ray Certificate- preferred • CPR & First Aid Certificate- preferred If you're ready to grow in a positive, team-focused environment and make a difference in patient health, we’d love to hear from you.
