Dementia Lead Nurse (RMN / RGN)
Leeds LS20
£25.04 per hour plus paid handover
Full-time | 45 hours per week across 4 days
Meridian Business Support are working with a respected care provider to recruit a Dementia Lead Nurse for a specialist dementia unit in Leeds (LS20). This is a great fit for an experienced RMN or RGN ready to step into a leadership role while remaining clinically involved.
The role:
As a Dementia Lead Nurse, you will lead from the front, ensuring high standards of care whilst supporting and developing your team. You will:
• Oversee the day-to-day running of a dementia care unit, ensuring safe and effective service delivery
• Leadership role within a well-supported dementia unit
• Hands-on care with real impact on residents’ quality of life
• Plan, implement and evaluate person-centred care for residents with complex needs
• Administer medication safely and maintain accurate electronic care records
• Carry out risk assessments, audits, and care reviews in line with compliance standards
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Lead, mentor and support care staff through supervision and appraisals
This Dementia Lead Nurse position combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibility, offering a balance of management and hands-on care.
Skills and experience required:
• Active NMC registration (RGN or RMN) with a valid PIN
• Experience in dementia care, ideally in a senior or unit manager capacity
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A positive, adaptable approach with a focus on high-quality care
