Cybersecurity Systems Officer Employment Type: Full-Time, Experienced Department: Information Technology CGS is actively seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Systems Officer who possesses DIACAP and/or RMF experience and a strong background in security assessment documentation. Join us in supporting Department of Commerce systems and helping them achieve their Authorization to Operate (ATO). This position is located at the client site in the Herbert Hoover building in Washington, DC. Your role will involve managing the full life-cycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process through all 6 Steps of the RMF in collaboration with the Government ISSM. Key Responsibilities: • Identify potential security weaknesses in systems, recommend improvements, and document upgrades. • Manage cybersecurity risk from an organizational perspective, prioritizing risks, and maintaining a risk registry. • Provide security guidance and IS validation in accordance with NIST RMF, Department of Commerce, and local security policies. • Make recommendations for configuration management related to information system security software, hardware, and coordinating changes with the ISSM, Security Control Assessor (SCA), and Authorizing Official (AO). • Ensure compliance with vulnerability scanning tools and patch management directives. • Support the transition from DIACAP to the DoC RMF security authorization process. • Offer expert knowledge in cybersecurity and trusted systems technology. • Analyze specialized functional areas to develop solutions for complex problems. • Research, write, and review cyber security policies, assessments, and technical documentation. • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree. • A minimum of five years in Information Assurance, ISSE, ISSO, or related roles in ATO package development. • Experience with eMASS. • Professional security certification such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP, or higher. • Strong skills in desktop publishing with Microsoft Word and Excel. • Excellent writing skills, capable of adhering to industry writing standards. • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. • Preferred qualifications: • CISSP, CASP, or similar certification. • Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or related field. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively. • High commitment to quality and ethics.
