Job Requirements:
• Experience: 5+ years as an ISSO on projects of similar scope and complexity. Must include experience in at least one of the following:
• Security tools and technologies
• Hardware/software security implementation
• Communication protocols
• Encryption methods
• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field (or 4 additional years of ISSO experience in lieu of degree).
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher
• Clearance: TS/SCI with current polygraph

Join Peraton’s Cyber Missions team as a Cyber Systems Engineer / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and help shape the future of national security. In this critical role, you’ll secure complex systems, ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and protect some of the nation's most sensitive information.

What You’ll Do As a Cyber Systems Engineer / ISSO, you'll be responsible for safeguarding critical systems and data while ensuring they remain compliant, secure, and mission-ready. Your work will directly support national defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure.
You'll lead or support the full lifecycle of system security operations, including:
• Acting as the Information Systems Security Approval Authority for systems under your purview.
• Providing both technical guidance and compliance expertise across Information Assurance (IA) initiatives.
• Planning, coordinating, and enforcing cybersecurity best practices across multiple systems and projects.
• Maintaining a strong operational security posture for mission-critical environments.
• Developing and implementing security policies, standards, and methodologies to meet and exceed federal requirements.
• Supporting daily security operations, including continuous monitoring, incident response, and log analysis.
• Performing detailed vulnerability and risk assessments to support system Certification & Accreditation (C&A) efforts.
• Evaluating and validating security solutions to ensure readiness for handling classified and sensitive data.
• Overseeing configuration management, system changes, and associated Security Impact Assessments.
Key Deliverables and Documentation You'll lead or contribute to the development of essential security documentation, such as:
• System Security Plans (SSPs)
• Risk Assessment Reports
• Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages
• System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)
