As a Custodian at Dundee Township Park District, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that supports our community by keeping our recreation spaces clean, functional, and safe. From room setup to snow removal to daily cleaning routines, you’ll help ensure a positive experience for all guests, program participants, and staff. What You’ll Do: • Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting restrooms • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners • Move furniture and equipment; assist with event setups and breakdowns • Handle minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing lightbulbs, minor plumbing/electrical work) • Maintain vending machines and manage trash disposal • Respond to weather needs including snow shoveling and salting walkways • Lock/unlock facilities, arm/disarm alarms, and ensure building security • Support part-time staff and assist with training when needed • Report larger maintenance concerns to supervisor and uphold safety standards What You Bring: • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent • Experience with facility cleaning and maintenance preferred • Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively • Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety procedures • Leadership skills and ability to guide or oversee part-time staff when needed • First Aid/CPR certification recommended (or willingness to obtain) • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled Perks & Benefits: • Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of your space • Varied tasks that keep each shift engaging • Contribute to a clean, safe environment that serves the community • Supportive team environment focused on professionalism and quality In Exchange for Your Time and Talent, We Offer: Choose one of the following: • Individual 100-day Fitness Center Pass • Family Season Pass to Dolphin Cove Aquatic Center • Family Season Pass to Randall Oaks Zoo and Park Plus: • Free or discounted Park District programs, merchandise, and concessions • Credit Union membership access Schedule: This is a part-time position with weekend availability required. Weekend differential increases pay to $17.00 per hour Typical hours: • Saturdays & Sundays between 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. – Midnight • Hours may vary based on programs or facility rentals Training Requirement: • 1-week training required during weekdays (7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) prior to regular shifts.
