Description
Northeast Community College is seeking a full-time Custodian/Maintenance Technician at our O'Neill campus. The purpose of this position is to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable learning environment for students, faculty, staff and administrators.  This is accomplished by sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming classrooms, offices, halls, restrooms, windows, corridors, and other public areas. This position performs skilled work in repair, upkeep, and maintenance needs of building and grounds facilities at the Extended Campus in O'Neill, NE.  This is accomplished by repairing and replacing HVAC or plumbing parts which have failed or entire equipment  replacement; conducting routine preventative maintenance to equipment, lights, doors, and locks; maintaining records and tracking of inventory; checking life safety equipment, such as emergency lights and fire extinguishers; performing minor carpenter work, and repairing electrical outlets, switches, lights; maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers; Works directly with Executive Director of Physical Plant or designee to coordinate with scheduled contractors for snow removal, mowing, fertilizer, pest control, boilers, life safety inspections, and fire alarm systems; performing room setups and custodial service; performing shipping and receiving duties, as needed; assisting with snow removal; and all other duties assigned. Education:   Willingness to be trained and aligns with the College’s mission, vision and values Experience:  Requires some cleaning knowledge and the ability to read and understand product labels. Skills:  Requires excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work successfully with students and other employees. Valid Drivers license required. Special Instructions to Applicants:  This job requires occasional overtime to assist with coverage at extra events taking place on campus. This position will remain open until filled.
