Description
Are you a Young Adult and wondering what’s next? This could be your chance to invest a year (or more) in God’s mission, grow in your faith, and discern your future. Who we are East Glasgow Church is an Anglican church plant in the East End of Glasgow. It’s a community marked by diversity, resilience, and need — but very little gospel witness. Led by ECM missionaries, our church has a heart to see people trained in ministry and sent out in mission. Why consider this opportunity? There are lots of “gap year” or “graduate trainee” schemes out there. Here’s why this one might be a great fit for you: • Post-Christian mission, in English. Get hands-on experience of church planting in a European city where Christianity has faded — but without the barrier of learning a new language. • A supportive network. You’ll be part of a wider group of churches that regularly host and mentor ministry trainees, so you won’t be doing this alone. • Theological training. Alongside practical ministry, you’ll have the option of supplementing your time with classroom theological study in Glasgow (depending on visa conditions). What you could be involved in: Relational evangelism and discipleship • Children’s and youth ministry • Community outreach and mercy ministries • Music and worship • Hospitality and practical support • ESL support for migrants Who we’re looking for: Recent graduates or young adults exploring mission or ministry • Followers of Jesus with a servant heart • Team players who are flexible, open, and willing to learn • People ready to step into an urban, cross-cultural setting What to expect: For more information on what the role could look like, visit https://www.eastglasgow.church/traineeship . What is outlined there is written with a local applicant in mind, but it will give you an idea of what we are set up to provide. This would be adapted as necessary for your specific situation. Interested? If you sense God might be leading you to explore this next step, get in touch via ECM. We’d love to hear your story and help you discern whether East Glasgow might be the place for you.
