About the Role: At CDC, our Critical Environment Technicians work hands-on in live data centres, supporting the day-to-day operation of mission critical infrastructure. This is a site-based role focused on planned works, maintenance, site logistics, and overall reliability during business hours. You’ll play a key role in delivering technical facilities management — coordinating maintenance, managing site operations, and responding to incidents to keep our environments safe, secure, and always on. If you’ve worked in electrical, HVAC, or industrial environments, much of this will feel familiar. You’ll be part of CDC’s Operations team — on the ground every day, working closely together to deliver a strong customer experience and keep our facilities running at their best. What you’ll be doing day‑to‑day: Monitoring and responding to alarms and alerts across power, cooling, and fire systems Performing physical inspections to ensure equipment and infrastructure are operating within defined parameters Responding to faults and incidents, prioritising actions, and determining when escalation or contractor support is required Carrying out operational switching and control activities to prevent unplanned outages Supporting planned maintenance and monitoring contractors on site, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and approved methods of operation Documenting incidents, maintenance activities, and observations to support continuous improvement Benefits, Training and Offerings: Our training program provides tailored content through our CDC Academy, specifically designed for individuals starting out in this role.
