Description
Birmingham (Hybrid: 1-2 days/week in office) - £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits
NQ - 4 years PQE (Guideline only — higher experience levels welcomed)
Following a record-breaking financial year, a leading firm in Birmingham is expanding its Court of Protection practice and looking for an Associate for their Health & Welfare team.
If you are looking for a firm that actively invests in technology, offers a true work-life balance, and removes the administrative burden from your day-to-day, this is the opportunity for you.
Why Join This Team?
• Zero Admin: You are fully backed by dedicated paralegals and administrative teams, allowing you to focus entirely on fee-earning, client care, and high-value legal work.
• Dedicated PSL Support: Complex legal research is handled by an in-house Professional Support Lawyer.
• Tech-Driven: Modern, automated financial and payment systems streamline your workflow.
• Flexible Chargeable Hours: Your targets are tailored to your strengths. If you focus heavily on business development or internal training, your chargeable hour targets are adjusted accordingly (100% of the team hit their targets last year) .
• Guaranteed Work Stream: A steady pipeline of high-value work means no pressure to bring a client followings, though any business development interest is fully supported.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing Court of Protection (welfare) cases from instruction to conclusion
• Deliver empathetic, high-quality legal advice to clients, deputies, and family members.
• Engage in business development and networking activities tailored to your personal strengths.
Key Benefits
• Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience).
• Agile Working: 1 to 2 days per week in the Birmingham office; full flexibility on remote work.
• Clear Progression: Structured career pathway mapped out from Day 1.
• Annual Leave: 25 days + Bank Holidays, plus additional Dependants Leave and 2 Volunteering Days.
• Healthcare & Protection: Private Medical Insurance and Critical Illness Cover.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates ranging from NQ to 4 years PQE with prior Court of Protection experience in either Property & Affairs or Health & Welfare. However, due to the sheer volume of incoming work, PQE is just a guideline—candidates at higher levels are encouraged to apply.
