How You'll Make an Impact
MarqVision is looking for a creative, high-impact leader to build and run our Accounting function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape a company's financial infrastructure at its foundation: designing scalable processes, standing up day-to-day accounting operations, and safeguarding the long-term financial health of a fast-growing startup.
The ideal candidate pairs deep accounting expertise with a proven ability to thrive in ambiguity, moving fast and bringing structure where none exists yet. This is a unique opportunity to make a foundational impact at a fast-growing startup.
This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office, with 3 days onsite per week. Candidates must be located in the SF Bay Area, or willing to relocate at their own expense prior to start. We are not considering fully remote candidates for this role.
What You’ll Do
Lead global accounting operations, including foreign subsidiary management, transfer pricing, FX exposure, and multi-currency consolidated reporting
Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including global consolidation and intercompany eliminations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Own technical accounting policy, especially revenue recognition (ASC 606) for evolving and hybrid business models
Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations across US and international entities
Prepare internal reporting and ad hoc financial analyses to support leadership decision-making
Oversee international, federal, state, and local tax compliance in partnership with external advisors, along with other regulatory filings
Own the roadmap for financial systems, including leading ERP implementation
Lead audits and serve as primary liaison with external auditors
Build, mentor, and scale the accounting team as the company grows
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with deep technical accounting expertise, including ASC 606 and SaaS metrics
Track record of building and scaling accounting operations: policies, systems, and audits in fast-paced, high-growth settings
NetSuite experience
Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones
Proven experience building, mentoring, and scaling accounting teams
Clear, concise communication, ability to distill complex accounting topics for non-finance audiences
Sound judgment and bias to action in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

The expected salary range for this role is $200,000 - $256,000, determined by location, skills, experience, market demands, and inter
