Role Overview Provide expert corporate, commercial, and M&A legal analysis and drafting to a customer project that will be used to train next-generation AI systems. In this remote contractor role you will evaluate and improve real-world legal materials, translate complex legal concepts into plain language for model training, and deliver precise written and verbal legal insights that reflect US law and best practices. Key Responsibilities • Evaluate and analyze corporate, commercial, and M&A documents for accuracy, enforceability, and compliance with US law. • Draft, review, and provide detailed feedback on contracts, policies, and agreements consistent with corporate law best practices. • Translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible explanations for use in AI development and training. • Identify and summarize key legal issues, trends, and risk areas arising in business transactions and contract negotiations. • Contribute real-world legal scenarios, case studies, and document samples to augment AI training datasets. • Collaborate asynchronously with project stakeholders to clarify deliverables and resolve questions related to corporate law topics. • Deliver precise written and verbal insights that reflect the nuances of legal language and practical application. Qualifications • Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school, and active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction. • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate, business, or transactional law, including work involving M&A, contracts, and risk management. • Experience as outside counsel, in-house corporate counsel, or as a legal consultant to business clients. • Proven ability to draft and review a variety of corporate and commercial agreements. • Strong legal research and analysis skills, and demonstrated legal document analysis capabilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex legal issues for nonexpert audiences. • Familiarity with US regulatory and commercial compliance requirements. • Comfortable collaborating remotely and contributing to technology-driven projects, intellectual curiosity about applying legal expertise to AI development. Work Terms Independent contractor engagement, fully remote. Work is US-based only, with asynchronous collaboration across project stakeholders. No prior experience in AI is required, domain expertise in corporate and transactional law is the primary qualification. The hiring organization uses an AI-assisted vetting process to identify and evaluate qualified legal experts for customer projects. Compensation Pay range is $90 to $150 per hour, paid to independent contractors. Exact rate within this range will depend on experience and project needs. Eligibility • Must be US-based. • Must hold an active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction. • Must be able to engage as an independent contractor for US-based project work.
