Description
Job Description:  This person serves the body of FAC by mobilizing, overseeing, coordinating and providing support for congregational care ministries, following the Biblical model of providing care for eachONE, by everyONE (Acts 6 and 1 Peter 2:9). This position is very pastoral and care oriented, with extensive administrative and organizational aspects. Main Responsibilities: Mobilize the body of Christ to care for one another in effective, meaningful ways. Oversee, organize, and communicate with the various ministries or ministry teams (and their coordinators if applicable) that fall under congregational care, including: o Counseling Referrals o Grief Support Ministries o Keeping In Touch o Benevolence o Hospital Visitation Team o Pastor on Duty Schedule o Funeral Support for families Essential Duties: Oversee Congregational Care ministries, including recruiting, scheduling, and training volunteers and team leaders, ordering supplies and resources, and meeting with individuals within FAC as needed to provide spiritual support, prayer, and connect with resources (such as KIT, Meals, Grief Support, Hospital Visits). Ministry Development / Process Improvement / Professional Development o Spend time learning and envisioning how congregational care ministry can evolve to meet the needs of the entire congregation o Develop and lead a Congregational Care team that can further assist with the development of new expressions of care at FAC (Stephens Ministry, Marriage Mentoring, Healing Prayer as examples) o Identify opportunities for personal development, present these to the supervisor for consideration and approval o Participate in strategic planning process Desired Qualifications o Work experience directly or indirectly related to this role o Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) o Strong administrative and organizational skills o Excellent interpersonal skills o Bachelors Degree, required o Masters in related field, preferred
