Job Description Summary: The Continuous Improvement Professional is responsible for developing and executing CI initiatives to enhance Customer Experience performance, process quality, and operational efficiency across the GSC network. The role drives the adoption of The Maersk Way as the standard operating system for performance management and problem solving, ensuring a structured and sustainable approach to continuous improvement, governance, and capability building. Continuous Improvement (CI) within Customer Experience focuses on systematically improving processes, reducing cost-to-serve, enhancing customer outcomes, and building a sustainable culture of operational excellence across the GSC network. CI acts as the engine that converts operational scale into measurable value through standardization, capability building, and structured problem solving. Key Responsibilities: Professional Stream The Professional stream includes individual contributors who apply advanced knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, and Customer Experience processes to deliver measurable business outcomes. Work at this level focuses on: Driving CI strategy execution and maturity across processes and sites Applying structured methodologies (Lean, The Maersk Way) to solve business problems Leading or supporting cross-functional improvement initiatives Influencing stakeholders and enabling change adoption Individuals may coach or mentor others, lead projects, and support capability building initiatives, while not having direct people management responsibilities. Progression within this stream reflects increasing depth in CI expertise, ability to lead complex transformations, and influence across functions, products, and regions. Accountabilities Develop and execute CI strategies aligned with global and regional CX priorities Drive process quality ownership, including identification of gaps and improvement actions Support and lead cross-functional projects and change initiatives (GSC, Product, Global) Enable resource planning and prioritization of CI initiatives and pipeline Design and implement risk mitigation frameworks, including audits and governance models Act as custodian of quality culture and continuous improvement mindset Identify and enable automation opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability Critical Tasks Execute CI strategies and track maturity, adoption, and outcomes across processes and sites Own and implement process quality frameworks, linking performance gaps to capability building and training interventions Lead or support complex improvement projects ensuring alignment, governance, and successful adoption Partner with Product, Platform, and Technology teams to drive implementation of enhancements within GSC Apply structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., A3, root cause analysis, Kaizen) to improve KPIs Identify opportunities for automation and digital enablement to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy Monitor performance metrics, identify defects, and drive corrective and preventive actions Promote standardization and ensure CI tools, frameworks, and ways of working are embedded in daily operations Capabilities Strong project and program management skills Expertise in Lean, Agile, and structured Continuous Improvement methodologies Business acumen with ability to link CI initiatives to customer and financial outcomes Stakeholder management and change leadership across multiple levels and functions Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset Technology awareness, including automation, AI, and digital tools Coaching and capability development mindset Enterprise thinking with ability to drive standardization and scalability Impact The role contributes directly to: Improved customer experience and service quality Reduced cost-to-serve through efficiency and automation Stronger operational governance and risk mitigation Sustainable culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence Delivery of measurable business value through standardized and scalable solution Skills and Competencies: Ability to lead or support cross-functional improvement projects and drive measurable outcomes Experience in process governance, risk mitigation, and performance tracking (KPIs) Strong business acumen, ideally within logistics or supply chain operations Proven experience in process optimization, quality frameworks, and operational excellence Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with ability to engage senior leaders Effective change management and adoption enablement capability Solid project management skills, including planning, execution, and governance Willing to work on a night shift schedule and in a site-based setup.
