Our client is expanding their newly established General Internal Medicine (GIM) team at Derriford Hospital and is seeking two dynamic and motivated GIM Consultants. This role offers a chance to be at the forefront of an innovative service, providing exceptional care across two GIM wards: Hembury and Hartor (each with 28 beds). You’ll be part of a collaborative team that includes a full complement of Junior Doctors and Specialist Registrars, ensuring high-quality care for GIM patients. Key Responsibilities: • Manage non-elective general medical patients admitted from ED/MAU and internal ward transfers. • Lead inpatient ward rounds. • Support junior medical staff through training and mentorship. • Participate in Clinical Governance. • Provide MAU (Medical Assessment Unit) cover on a rota basis. • Contribute to weekend morning ward rounds (1 in 6). • As the service grows, contribute to MAU take alongside the 1:4 weekly commitment.
