Role Overview Apply advanced computational biology and bioinformatics expertise to evaluate, annotate, and benchmark AI systems that operate on genomics, transcriptomics, structural biology, and systems biology tasks. Your reviews and annotations will shape how next-generation AI models learn, reason, and perform on real-world biological problems. This role is fully remote and contracted, contributing to a global expert network that converts domain knowledge into high-quality training data and model evaluations. Key Responsibilities • Evaluate, annotate, and benchmark AI-generated outputs in real-world computational biology use cases, including genomics and transcriptomics. • Assess accuracy, relevance, and performance of model outputs in genomics, transcriptomics, and systems biology scenarios. • Apply advanced analytical reasoning to review scientific workflows and pipelines, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide biologically grounded feedback on AI model behavior. • Document observations and findings clearly, providing scientific rationale and actionable recommendations. • Communicate complex biological and technical concepts effectively in written and verbal form to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Stay current with emerging trends in computational biology, bioinformatics, and machine learning applied to biology. Qualifications • PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field, or equivalent industry or research experience. • Proven experience in data-driven biological research and computational analysis workflows. • Required skills: Python, Bash. • Proficiency with scripting, including Python, R, and Bash, and familiarity with scientific tools such as BWA, GATK, STAR, Salmon, Seurat, or Scanpy is desirable. • Deep understanding of genomics, transcriptomics, structural biology, or systems biology. • Excellent scientific reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across distributed teams. • Comfort working remotely and contributing to distributed teams. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with AI or machine learning model evaluation in a biology context, including LLM evaluation. • Hands-on experience with NGS pipelines, CRISPR workflows, AlphaFold, or PyMOL. • Published research or contributions to open-source projects in computational biology or bioinformatics. Work Terms • Employment type: Contractor. • Location: Remote. Compensation • Pay range: $40 - $60 per hour.
