About the Role You will be embedded in a compositing team working directly alongside Compositing Leads, Supervisors, and Producers to shape the approach for each shot from brief through to delivery. The work spans high-end feature film VFX, where output quality and shot turnover both matter. A typical day involves pulling plates, building comp setups in Nuke, attending shot reviews, and keeping your work moving on schedule within the production workflow. Key Responsibilities • Build and maintain comp setups in Nuke to integrate live-action plates with 2D and 3D rendered elements to a feature film standard. • Work with Compositing Leads and VFX Supervisors to establish the technical and creative approach for each shot before work begins. • Track shot progress against production schedules and flag any technical or timeline risks to the production team early. • Communicate clearly with Production on the status of your shots, ensuring the wider post-production workflow stays on track. • Maintain consistency across your shots in terms of colour, grain, motion blur, and depth integration to support a coherent final image. • Contribute to internal shot reviews, taking on notes from supervisors and iterating quickly within the VFX pipeline. What You Bring • Demonstrable experience as a compositor on high-end feature film or episodic television productions, with credits to support it. • Strong proficiency in Nuke as your primary compositing tool, with a solid understanding of node-based workflows. • Experience working within a structured VFX pipeline, including familiarity with render passes, AOVs, and plate management. • The ability to balance technical problem-solving with meeting the creative brief on a shot-by-shot basis. • Based in or able to work from the Greater London area, as this is an on-site position.
