About the American Connection Corps: The American Connection Corps  (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment. ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities. About Workforce Alliance of South Central Kanas The Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas (WA), a non-profit 501c3 organization, is the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) for Local Area IV of Kansas. The WA is the Administrative Entity and Program Administrator for U.S. Department of Labor Education and Training Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs, and oversees the KANSASWORKS Workforce Centers - South Central Kansas across Butler, Cowley, Harper, Kingman, Sedgwick, and Sumner counties. Position Overview The Community Engagement Associate will support staff-led efforts that expand access to digital skills training and increase awareness of workforce development services throughout south central Kansas. Under the guidance and supervision of Workforce Alliance staff, the Member will assist with digital skills education, community outreach, customer engagement, workshop delivery, resource navigation and referral support, referral coordination, and data collection activities. Through these efforts, the Member will help connect community members to resources that support digital literacy, employment opportunities, and workforce participation. Key Responsibilities Deliver digital skills, workforce readiness, and employment-related workshops for job seekers and community members using program-approved curriculum, materials, and service delivery procedures under staff supervision. Assist with outreach efforts by sharing information and/or delivering presentations about Workforce Center services and resources at events and community activities. Support customer engagement activities, including meeting with customers for digital skills training, providing program information, and connecting individuals to appropriate services and resources using established referral processes and without determining eligibility for services or benefits. Participate in community partnership and stakeholder engagement efforts that increase awareness of workforce and digital skills programs and support community participation in approved service activities. Collect, organize, and maintain service-related data, attendance records, and other documentation to support reporting requirements and program evaluation activities under staff oversight. Help prepare and maintain training materials, outreach resources, and workshop supplies that directly support approved service activities. Participate in AmeriCorps service activities, trainings, and professional development opportunities, and share observations and recommendations with staff to support continuous improvement efforts consistent with approved program scope and Member responsibilities. All functions and activities performed by the AmeriCorps Member are completed under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program and host site staff.
