Our client is a long-established, successful, and growing business operating from its purpose-built site at Membury, just off the M4. They provide first-class workshop facilities for commercial and car repairs, servicing, and inspections, as well as industry-leading roadside breakdown and recovery services across Wiltshire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire. Reason for hiring: Due to ongoing growth and ambitious plans, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hard-working individual to join the commercial workshop team. Operating a diverse fleet of around 30 recovery vehicles, you will be required to maintain and repair these, alongside work for our general retail and account customers. Role overview: We are seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician (HGV Mechanic) to perform maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on our recovery fleet and customer vehicles. The successful candidate will carry out PMI and pre-MOT inspections, diagnose faults, and complete repairs to the highest standard. This is a busy but rewarding role that requires a reliable work ethic, strong mechanical knowledge, and pride in high-quality workmanship. • Carry out diagnostic and repair work on HGV and recovery vehicles • Perform routine maintenance, PMI inspections, and pre-MOT checks. • Liaise with drivers to understand reported defects. • Complete all job cards and service sheets accurately and on time. • Maintain a clean, organised working environment. • Support and mentor apprentices when required. • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or extensive experience in a similar role. • Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence advantageous). • £50,000 annual salary (Monday–Friday, no weekends) • £500 annual tool allowance • Performance-based bonus scheme • £1,500 signing-on bonus (paid after successful probation) • Referral bonus scheme – earn cash rewards for successful employee referral • Ongoing training and career development opportunities • Overtime available at enhanced rates • Company uniform provided • 28 days paid holiday (including bank holidays) • Company pension • Employee discount scheme
