Job Title: Commercial Roofing Foreman Start Date: Immediately Job Type: Full Time Salary Range: $38.00-$45.00/Hour DOE Position Overview:  As a Commercial Roofing Foreman, you’ll be the leader on the roof—guiding your crew through daily operations while setting the standard for safety, quality workmanship, and productivity. You play a critical role in keeping projects on track, crews motivated, and job sites running safely and efficiently from start to finish. Essential Functions: • Coordinate with Crew Members, Superintendents, and Project Managers to manage scheduling, scope of work, and daily jobsite activities, including communicating any scope changes before execution. • Lead and support crew performance and development, ensuring productivity, accountability, and proper time tracking while resolving any timesheet discrepancies. • Document daily jobsite activity including production, quality control, and jobsite updates through accurate daily logs. • Communicate and coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and other trades to resolve issues and keep work progressing smoothly. • Manage jobsite readiness, materials, and equipment, including weather monitoring, end-of-day job protection, inventory coordination, and proper maintenance/storage of tools, vehicles, and trailers. • Enforce OSHA safety standards and jobsite compliance while maintaining a safe and professional work environment. • Maintain project schedules and production goals to ensure projects stay on time and within labor hour targets. • Participate in pre-construction meetings and job walkthroughs to ensure clear project expectations and alignment before work begins. Required Skills and Abilities: • OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred); able to obtain required equipment operation certifications • Ability to obtain security clearance for military and secured job sites • Familiar with SMACNA standards and construction best practices • Ability to read and understand shop drawings, site plans, and specifications • Strong leadership & communication skills • Solid critical thinking, problem‑solving, time management, and organizational skills • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, hard‑working, with a willingness to learn new systems • Embodies company values: Family Culture, JR Attitude (humble & teachable), Extreme Ownership, and a growth mindset; communicates respectfully and adheres to company policies at all times Education and Experience: • Minimum 3 years construction experience, • Minimum 3-5 years roofing specific experience • Experience working with TPO, EPMD, Modified Bitumen, metal roofing, coping, and the above, listed materials Work Environment/Physical Requirements: • Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program • Willing to travel • Ability to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights) • Frequently lift and carry 50lbs or greater • Frequent bending, kneeling, walking • Outdoor environment in all types of weather (8+ hours per day) Compensation & Benefits: • Health, dental, vision, life insurance • Paid time off • Paid Parental Leave • 401(k) with company match • Fringe Benefit sub-plan (where applicable) • Company issued phone or phone stipend • Company truck and fuel card or stipend • Weekly Pay Schedule Location • In Person - Kansas City, MO 64108 • Day Shift: Mon-Friday • Overtime and weekend work as job requires J.R. & Co., Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
