Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Manager to join their existing leadership team and take ownership of the commercial function across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with the operational and pre-construction teams, you'll play a key role in protecting profitability, driving performance and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities
As a Commercial Manager across the East and West Midlands, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Leading the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
Managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors across the business
Overseeing cost control, valuations, variations, forecasting and reporting to ensure projects remain commercially successful
Working closely with operational teams to manage project risks, opportunities and contractual matters
Negotiating and managing subcontractor procurement, appointments and account agreements
Producing accurate commercial reports and presenting findings to senior leadership teams
Supporting bid and tender processes with commercial input and strategic guidance
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
Ensuring contractual compliance and protecting the commercial interests of the business across all projects
Person
To be considered for this Commercial Manager opportunity across the East and West Midlands, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor position on behalf of a construction main contractor
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management processes within the construction industry
Experience managing projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, MOD, commercial or industrial
SC Clearance (current or the ability to pass the clearance process)
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior commercial staff
Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities
Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively with operational and pre-construction teams to drive project success
Relevant construction qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar
