Description
Why should you apply to join the DOF Subsea’s Commercial Graduate Scheme? Our Commercial Graduate Scheme is a two-year programme during which you will get to learn the processes and principles of the Commercial cycle in the Subsea industry, including business development, tendering, contract negotiation and project support, providing a full overview and involvement of DOF Subsea’s business from start to finish, working with Senior Management internally and key clients externally, both on a daily basis. In addition to working in the “Business Acquisition” department, you shall also spend time in several key departments so that you develop a good understanding of the other facets of the company, how they support day-to-day business activities, and how their involvement impacts you within the Commercial department .  The department rotations will give you oversight and experience with Projects, Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain,, QHSE, Survey,  Drafting, Cost Control and others which we believe give you a good overview of our operations, and will also include intermittent visits to our offices in Bergen and Copenhagen.  Although not mandatory, if you wish to see what it’s like onboard one of our Vessels during one of our Projects, this is something which can also be arranged, providing first-hand understanding of the work that DOF Subsea provide, and the services DOF Subsea try to sell. While we have a structured rotation schedule, we also work with the graduates to ensure they can play to their strengths.  This might mean that we change the schedule as we go to make sure it works for you.  You will be given a mentor and supported by the whole team here at DOF – everyone wants to make sure our graduates feel at home and are given the experience they need to become the next generation of Commercial professionals.  We choose to only hire a small number of graduates each year so that we can give them the right level of focus to ensure that you are learning and developing, and that your colleagues are always on hand to aid that process.  At DOF we pay attention to what you need to succeed.  It’s in our interest as well as your own.  We are looking for people that are keen, flexible, and open to new situations.  A lot of the graduate scheme is based on working alongside people and experiencing the practical side of the subsea industry, so we look for graduates who are based in the north east of Scotland, within commuting distance of our offices by the harbour here in Aberdeen, or are happy to relocate, so you can spend the majority of the working week directly learning from your colleagues within the office.  We look for people that show they are hardworking, proactive and conscientious.  You’ll receive on the job training to help you move from the end of your university degree  to being a young professional. Whilst, historically, the role predominantly suits persons who have studied subjects such as Business, Law, or Quantity Surveying, we are happy to consider graduates from all branches of learning.  If you’re looking for a job with a lot of variety which will set you up for a career in the energy industry, we want to hear from you so apply today!
