Senior / Principal Associate – Commercial (Education & Technology) - Manchester | Leeds We’re working with a leading national law firm looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Solicitor to join its growing team, advising across the education, technology and public sectors. The opportunity This is a fantastic role for a commercially focused lawyer to work on a broad and high-quality portfolio of matters. You’ll be involved in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, as well as advising on strategic projects with both domestic and international elements. The work spans areas such as supply chain arrangements, outsourcing, joint ventures, IT contracts and data protection. You’ll partner closely with a diverse client base and play a visible role in delivering pragmatic, business-driven advice. The position offers flexibility on location across multiple UK office and provides a strong platform to further develop your profile and client relationships. About you You’ll be a qualified solicitor with circa 6+ years’ PQE gained within a reputable regional, national or international firm. A solid grounding in commercial, IT and IP law is essential, along with the ability to deliver clear, solutions-focused advice. You will likely be: A confident communicator with excellent drafting skills and attention to detail Commercially aware with strong negotiation capability Proactive, organised and comfortable managing competing priorities Naturally collaborative, with a strong client service ethos Curious and engaged, with a genuine interest in how technology and commercial law intersect What you’ll be doing Advising on a wide range of commercial contracts and complex projects Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements across multiple sectors Supporting clients on technology, IP and data protection matters Working closely with colleagues across teams to deliver seamless advice Building and maintaining strong client relationships Contributing to business development and profile-raising initiatives Managing your own workload with autonomy and accountability Identifying and clearly communicating commercial risks What’s on offer You’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team where you’ll be encouraged to take ownership of your work, develop client relationships and get involved in wider strategic initiatives.
