The Opportunity Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can combine analytical thinking, real estate knowledge, and public service? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Assessor to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of commercial properties while helping ensure fair and equitable property assessments throughout Wisconsin. This is an in-person position based out of our Menomonee Falls, WI office. What you Will do • Inspect and evaluate commercial properties, including office, retail, and multi-family properties • Analyze market trends, income and expense information, sales data, and cost information • Determine accurate property valuations in accordance with Wisconsin laws and assessment standards • Maintain detailed property records and assessment documentation • Meet with property owners to explain assessment values and answer questions • Prepare assessment reports and defend values during Board of Review or other appeal processes • Utilize GIS, assessment software, and other technology to collect and manage property data • Stay current on Wisconsin property tax laws, appraisal practices, and industry trends Requirements What you Will Need to Succeed • Wisconsin Assessor 2 & 3 Certification (or ability to obtain certification) • Experience in commercial appraisal, assessment, real estate, finance, or related field • Knowledge of Wisconsin assessment laws and practices • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and assessment software • Valid Wisconsin driver's license • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, Geography, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
