🔎 At a Glance Company: Viant Medical Location: Wheeling, IL (on-site) Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00/hour (based on experience) Shift: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Shift Shift Differential: 2nd & 3rd Shift - 10% Machine Experience: Swiss, mill, or lathe Experience Level: Entry–Mid (2+ years CNC machining) --- Why This Role Exists This role exists to support ongoing production demand and growth at Viant Medical’s Wheeling, IL facility. CNC Machinists play a critical role in producing high-precision medical device components , where consistency, accuracy, and quality directly impact patient outcomes. --- The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC milles, lathes, or swiss machines for precision production • Load parts, monitor cycles, and make offset adjustments as needed • Inspect parts using blueprints, gauges, and precision measuring tools • Hold tight tolerances required for medical device manufacturing • Troubleshoot machining issues and correct problems to maintain quality • Deburr, buff, and finish parts to print specifications • Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned machines • Follow safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards --- Machines, Controls & Inspection You’ll work with CNC equipment and inspection tools such as: • Machines: • Star and Citizen CNC Swiss Machines • Multi-axis CNC mills and lathes • Controls: Fanuc / Haas-style controls (typical) • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, gauges, blueprint & GD&T interpretation --- Materials You’ll Work With • Medical-grade metals and components • Small, tight-tolerance precision parts --- What We’re Looking For Required: • 2+ years of CNC machining experience • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read blueprints and work to close tolerances • Experience inspecting parts and maintaining dimensional accuracy • Reliable, safety-minded, and team-oriented Preferred (Not Required): • Experience in medical device manufacturing • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices • Experience with both CNC mills and lathes --- Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Viant Medical because of: • Clean, climate-controlled, and well-organized shop environment • Stable schedules with consistent hours • Day-one benefits and attendance bonuses • Opportunities to grow within a global medical device company • Work that directly supports life-saving and life-enhancing products --- Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay: $25.00 – $25.00/hour (DOE) Shift Premium: +10% for 2nd shift or 3rd shift Benefits (Day 1 Eligibility): • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Company-paid life & disability coverage • 3.5 weeks PTO (prorated) • Perfect Attendance Bonus – up to $800 annually • Career growth and advancement opportunities Schedule: • 1st Shift: 6 am - 2 pm Monday - Friday • 2nd Shift: 2 pm - 10 pm Monday - Friday • 3rd Shift: 10 pm - 6 am Monday - Saturday • Overtime as needed --- Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC . 👉 Apply now or save this job to come back later.
