This role plays a key part in machining precision components on a 5” CNC Horizontal Boring Mill in a true high-mix job shop environment. This is not a production-line position. It is hands-on machining where setup skill, blueprint interpretation, and craftsmanship matter. --- The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: • Set up and operate a 5” CNC Horizontal Boring Mill • Perform complete setups including tooling, offsets, and workholding • Make program adjustments at the machine as required • Machine one-off prototypes and short-run batches (typically 1–20 pieces) • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools • Adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency • Work independently while collaborating with engineering and quality teams You will be machining both large and small components in a professional, process-driven environment. --- Machines, Equipment & Shop Environment Wagner Machine operates a modern CNC facility including: • CNC Horizontal Boring Mills (including 5” spindle platforms) • Okuma Horizontal Machining Centers (including palletized Fastems FMS systems) • Makino 5-Axis Horizontal Machining Center • CNC Vertical Turret Lathes up to 72” diameter • CNC Double Column (Bridge) Machining Centers • Multi-Axis Twin Spindle CNC Lathes • In-house crane capacity up to 15 tons (Equipment details confirmed from Wagner’s published equipment list.) While this role is focused on the horizontal boring mill, you’ll be working in a facility with advanced multi-axis machining and strong quality systems. --- Software & Quality Systems Wagner Machine utilizes: • Mastercam (full 5-axis capability) • AutoCAD • NC-SIMUL machining simulation • Zoller tool management systems • Integrated ERP systems The company maintains: • ISO 9001:2015 • AS9100 Rev.
