Description
Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent, current State of Wyoming CNA License • Provides for activities of daily living. Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patient's requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor. Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. • Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, anti-embolism stockings, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths. • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information. Storing and setting up medical equipment - laying out tools for the next patient exam. Assist residents with all aspects of ADLs as needed. (Dressing, grooming, mealtimes, etc.) All other duties as assigned • Complies with HIPAA Privacy Act by protecting confidential patient information. Follows all policies and procedures to maintain a safe setting. Participate in all training and continuing education. Maintains licensure to meet federal, state, and accreditation standards. List the technical or specialized knowledge, skills, abilities and functional competencies that are required for effectively performing the duties of this position: 1. Communicates and coordinates with charge nurse in all tasks 2. Have compassion and patience with residents 3. Assist residents in helping to keep their independence 4. Be able to assist residents with baths and showers 5. Assist residents with personal care needs, blood pressure, pedicures, weight, etc.6. Assist residents at Dr. and other medical appointments 7. Take incentive to learn medical terminology 8. Ability to lift to 50 pounds 9. Empathy and compassion. 10. Time management and organizational skills 11. Using proper protocol in controlling the spread of germs 12. Ability to follow set rules and protocol 13. Astute observation skills
