 Job Description BD is a global leader in medical technology, and we’re looking for practical, hands-on educators to join our clinical implementation team. If you’re passionate about automation, advancing healthcare and clinical education, this might be your next move! This casual position is based in   South Australia approx. 24 - 30 hours / month. We are seeking a Clinical Education Consultant to deliver end ‑ user training and on ‑ site support for   BD Pyxis TM  automated dispensing systems within hospital and healthcare settings. This role is ideal for a clinician or healthcare professional who enjoys education, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the safe and effective adoption of medication management technology. This is a casual role, with approximately up to   30 hours per month  available based on customer implementation and training requirements. Role Purpose The Clinical Education Consultant will deliver high ‑ quality hands ‑ on training, go ‑ live support, and workflow ‑ based education to nursing, pharmacy, and clinical staff to support the safe and effective use   of BD Pyxis™  medication management systems. The role focuses on building clinician confidence through practical training, system feature demonstrations, and basic troubleshooting guidance, ensuring Pyxis systems are used in line with local policies and medication safety requirements. This position plays a key role in driving user adoption, supporting efficient clinical workflows, and maintaining compliance across healthcare settings. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of the BD Medication Safety and Implementation Manager within Medication Management Solutions (MMS). Key Responsibilities • Deliver comprehensive super-user training on the operation and use of BD Pyxis systems (including Pyxis MedStation, Pyxis Anaesthesia and Pyxis CIISafe), utilising relevant educational and training resources. • Tailor and deliver role-based education for nursing staff, pharmacy staff and anaesthetic staff to meet individual customer requirements. • Educate users on correct system usage, daily workflows and troubleshooting techniques. • Support Pyxis System implementations, upgrades and expansions including go-live support. • Build positive, trusted relationships with nursing and/or pharmacy staff through professional engagement and serve as a clinical subject matter expert for Pyxis Systems. • Promote safe medication practices consistent with NSQHS standards and local hospital medication policies relating to the use of Pyxis Systems. • Support the development of training materials, quick reference guides, and standard operating procedures. • Supports sales representatives and other members of the team by providing them with information regarding customer needs. • Capture user feedback, training attendance, training outcomes, and recurring questions to support continuous improvement. • Provide insights to internal teams on training effectiveness and user experience. • Other related tasks at the discretion of management. Knowledge Required • A thorough understanding of nursing medication administration processes across inpatient services. • Strong knowledge of medication safety principles, high risk medications and controlled drug requirements. • A sound understanding of the relevant (state and/or national) policy and legislation regarding medication governance. • Knowledge and experience using products within the BD MMS portfolio (BD RowaTM, BD PyxisTM ES, BD AlarisTM) is desirable but not mandatory. Key Skills & Attributes • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills • Strong people skills with a calm, reassuring, and supportive approach • Proven ability to educate, train, and coach adult learners • Confident presenter in small group and one‑on‑one settings • Patient, methodical, and approachable demeanour • An agile mindset in embracing new technologies, learnings and new approaches is important • Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, practical terms • Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team • Experience in hospital would be highly regarded • Knowledge of Automated dispensing cabinets would be desirable Experience Required: • An undergraduate degree in healthcare (e.g. Nursing, Pharmacy) • 3+ years of clinical experience Working Conditions • Typically spend 1-3 days onsite at a hospital location training staff on new or existing Pyxis Systems. • Across one month typically visit 1-2 sites compromising of 3-5 days of work per month. • Sites can be based anywhere across South Australia (with the potential of other states) • The casual contract includes reimbursement for both hours worked onsite and any reasonable travel time and costs incurred • Support customers via phone calls for their training needs in readiness for your visit to the customer site Warum zu uns?
