Job Title: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor – Registered (CADC-R) Department: Clinical Reports To: Clinical Director / LCAS / CCS Location: Trillium catchment area Position Summary: The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor – Registered (CADC-R) provides substance use counseling services under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). The CADC-R supports clients in their recovery journey through education, skill-building, relapse prevention, and coordination of treatment services. Responsibilities and Duties: • Provide direct substance use counseling and recovery support under clinical supervision. • Conduct intake screenings, assessments, and group or individual sessions as assigned. • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized service plans. • Facilitate educational and therapeutic groups focused on recovery and life skills. • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation according to PGIC and state standards. • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and continuing education activities. • Support clients in developing coping strategies and relapse prevention plans. • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with state regulations and NCSAPPB requirements. Qualifications: • Registered as a CADC-R with the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB). • High school diploma or higher education in a related field (Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work preferred). • Experience providing substance use services preferred but not required. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Actively pursuing full CADC or LCAS credentialing. • Experience working in outpatient, residential, or community-based treatment settings. • Knowledge of evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and 12-Step facilitation.
