Classroom Assistant (Prep School) Permanent 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday Based at Kelvinbridge Start Date: 31 August 2026 Six-month probationary period Salary: £12,223 The School The Glasgow Academy is a high-achieving co-educational independent day school for children aged 3-18. The Post We are seeking a part-time term-time Classroom Assistant to join our Prep School team at Kelvinbridge. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable individual, able to work as part of a competent and confident workforce in a dynamic educational environment. They will share our commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience and supporting a culture of learning throughout the Prep School. Duties are varied but will include supporting pupils' learning both in and out of the classroom to complement the work of teachers, playground supervision, preparing teaching materials, and helping to create and maintain a stimulating and engaging learning environment within the school. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will: • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Enjoy working with children and supporting their educational development. • Be able to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative and a proactive approach to their work. • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Have a commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion. • Be organised, dependable and able to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality. Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting would be advantageous, although not essential.
