Class 2 Dust Cart Driver (Refuse & Recycling Collection) Location: Thurrock Salary: £17.38 per hour Hours: Full-time, [Monday to Friday, early morning starts] Contract: Ongoing assignment About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Class 2 Dust Cart Driver to join our Refuse & Recycling Service. You’ll play a key role in keeping the borough clean and safe by driving a refuse collection vehicle (RCV) as part of a small, friendly crew. This is a public-facing, community-focused position , ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys working outdoors in a team environment. Key Responsibilities • Safely operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on designated routes. • Supervise and support loaders as part of the waste and recycling collection crew. • Undertake routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues. • Adhere to all health, safety, and council waste management policies. • Provide excellent service to residents and maintain a positive image of the council. • Assist with loading when required to ensure timely completion of rounds.
