Description
The Children’s Director provides vision, leadership, and oversight of all children’s programs, including Sunday School, Word Up Wednesday, Vacation Bible School (VBS), special events, and children’s camp. This role recruits, trains, and supports volunteers while creating a safe, loving environment where children can grow spiritually.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate children’s ministries and events (Sunday School, Word Up Wednesday, VBS, Christmas, and end-of-school outings).
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
• Select and implement age-appropriate, biblically grounded curriculum.
• Build relationships with children and families to encourage spiritual growth at home.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment; develop and enforce ministry policies.
• Manage ministry budget and resources, recommending strategies to grow effectiveness.
• Collaborate with church staff to integrate children’s ministry with the church’s mission.
Qualifications:
• Strong personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.
• Experience leading children’s ministry or related programs.
• Ability to recruit, train, and equip volunteers.
• Strong communication, relational, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate biblical curriculum for K–5 children.
